A new season is upon us! With all the new styles, I get asked a lot what products I recommend. I keep styling pretty simple in the way of products in the salon.
My top choices all have two things in common:
They're not sticky or leave residue.
They brush out.
Most importantly, they have heat protection.
There's nothing I hate more than a product that leaves a filmy or heavy feeling in the hair. This is why I am very specific about product selection. Also I love a good two for one, so this is why I always make sure it also offers heat protection.
Why, you may ask?!? Heat = damage. Your hair will never be that beautiful smooth shiny blowout if your ends are hay-like. Not to mention when we colour, regardless of what we do, it causes more damage. This is why it is so important to always use a heat protectant. Also worth noting, it protects your hair the way sunscreen protects your skin. So if you blow dry at night and style in the morning, you need to add your heat protection again.
Ok, so here are my top picks!
Why I love it: controls frizz, softens hair, seals cuticle, protects against colour fade, and has heat protection; along with about 20 other benefits. I use this on every client before cutting and before blowdrying. I also use it on my kids to control the puffiness of their hair.
Why I love this: Volume!!!!! With the return of the blowout, this is a must. Not only does it hold, it's heat activated. So it dries to a beautiful soft touchable finish. Best of all, it doesn't leave a sticky or straw-like residue. Which means you can style and restyle without washing.
Why I love this: it's a miracle for Canadian weather. It keeps out the humidity. Stopping your style from falling flat or frizzing. It also protects from heat, so it's a great option of second day styling. This is my go to for day two hair fixes.
All of these products I carry in my salon! If you're interested in a personal styling regime, I'd be more than happy to tailor a routine for you :) I always include my recommendations after every service.
